The Wastlbauer is now an official flagship partner of the FarmSchool Program of the Market Gardener Institute (MGI) – a global initiative shaping the future of small-scale agriculture. Led by Jean-Martin Fortier, an internationally recognized expert in regenerative and organic vegetable production, MGI has created the renowned MGI Masterclass – a comprehensive online training program that connects farmers worldwide around regenerative growing methods, farm development, and leadership.

Together with graduates of the CANOPY Program, Fortier’s intensive leadership retreat for future farm ambassadors, this evolved into the FarmSchool Program: a learning platform that combines the theoretical depth of the Masterclass with hands-on, experience-based training on partner farms across the globe. The result is a living, global classroom where aspiring growers learn directly from experienced farmer-entrepreneurs – rooted in local realities while being part of a worldwide community.

Through this blend of theory, mentorship, and real farm practice, the program empowers a new generation of small-scale farmers with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to build resilient, regenerative, and thriving local food systems.

“At the Wastlbauer FarmSchool, learning is both practical and personal — with your hands in the soil, your heart in the community, and your mind on the future.”
